The Garden Awakens – Meet the Long-Expected Minecraft 1.21.50 Patch Notes!

Almost 15 years later, since the release of Minecraft 1.0, we still receive huge content packs and updates both for Bedrock Edition and Pocket Edition. The level of such developer’s support and the community’s love is really mind-blowing. In 2024, the fans, including the Asami Games team, were expecting the arrival of new content. And they delivered the update that was even better than we’ve been waiting for. Let’s review the biggest changes that were brought by Minecraft 1.21.50 patch for Pocket Edition and Bedrock Edition on all platforms since December 3, 2024.

What Was Minecraft 1.21 Update About?

Before exploring the update 1.21.50, we can’t skip the major Summer update of 2024. The update Minecraft 1.21 called “Tricky Trials” was released on June 13, 2024.  A lot of changes in gameplay and controls were added to deliver the best experience for the veterans and new gamers.

The main addition was two new mobs:

  • Breeze is a flying enemy that could push players with strong gusts of wind;
  • Bogged is a green skeletal warrior who uses arrows laced with poison;

You can find these mobs in the mysterious dungeon called Trial Chambers, which hides plenty of dangerous creatures and secrets inside. Will you dare to go under?

In addition to new mobs, we’ve also got the Crafter – a Redstone device to automate the crafting procedure. If you got used to creating factories instead of beautiful Minecraft houses, you need this item for sure.

The update does not end there. It also adds a powerful new weapon—the Mace. This weapon delivers increased damage based on how far you fall and completely bypasses fall damage if it hits an enemy. In addition to the Mace, we’ve got new blocks like Copper Bulb for enhanced lighting, and new tuff variants for crafting.

The Trial Chambers are randomized and offer players the items for completing them. The Minecraft 1.21 update “Tricky Trials” improved the sandbox gameplay and provided the players with more ways to mine and build.

The Recent Minecraft 1.21.50 Patch Notes

Finally, let’s explore the changes that were brought by the Halloween-themed patch called “The Garden Awakens”. The Minecraft 1.21.50 update offers new additions and various gameplay changes. They delivered a whole new mysterious biome with new mechanics, items, and mobs.

New Biomes, Blocks, and Items

The Pale Garden Biome is the most meaningful addition to this patch. It is almost like the Dark Forest biome with a more horror theme. Imagine the grey forest with Pale Oak trees and the Pale Moss hanging everywhere. It is very eerie and delivers horror like nothing else before in Minecraft. Also, the sounds produced by Pale Moss are quite scary as well.

In this biome, you can also find a new flower plant – the Eyeblossom that opens only at night, even when grown in an artificial day/night cycle system. Eyeblossoms sort of look like glowing eyes at night and produce sounds if you plant them on Pale Moss Blocks.

The Pale Garden’s Creaking Mob is another major addition. This mob is generated by the Creaking Heart – a new “living block” you get among Pale Oaks. This mob can’t be killed, and if a player turns to look at The Creaking Heart, it immediately becomes frozen. When the Creaking Heart is destroyed, the connected Creaking mob crumbles, creating a chain reaction that causes nearby Sculk Catalysts to bloom.

Visual and Audio Enhancements

When it comes to visuals, you should expect the textures to look much better and crispy – for example, you can see every Pale Oak leave and the Resin Brick distinctly. Collected from a Creaking Heart, the resin can be used to create Resin Bricks. It is a new type of building block with horror-themed aesthetics to any building. The update also changes the sky to become less contrast between biomes.

Some sound changes were made as well. Mostly, you will notice the changes in the ambient sounds of Pale Garden. For instance, when battling with the Creaking Heart, your stomach will probably start rumbling from the tension and horror. Even the music volume decreases to zero when you explore the Pale Garden and raises again once players exit the biome. This little detail helps to create an eerie atmosphere. Minor Changes and Fixed Bugs

There are also some bug fixes and the gameplay has been fixed with this patch. For example, sponges and wet sponges now make proper sounds during their interaction with water.

Also, the Blast Furnace and Smoker blocks also now only drop when mined with a pickaxe to make tools feel more consistent. They also changed the mining rates of various blocks including the rates of Copper Trapdoors and Maces. There is an improved mining speed when an appropriate tool is used.

The update of Minecraft 1.21.50 is also packed full of performance tweaks and changes that make the game less prone to crashing especially during transfers between realms or while loading a new set of resources. There are other graphical changes like correcting kelp’s unintended darker shade, and ensuring the textures for bricks, Nether Bricks, and Resin Bricks are lined properly.

Tips After Installing Minecraft 1.21.50

  • Explore the Pale Garden biome. Just watch this video – the biome looks amazing – so go and explore every small detail of this gloomy but wonderful location;
  • Experience the power of Eyeblossoms – the flowers with dual visuals that change, according to the daytime and nighttime. Use them to craft the Suspicious Stew with new effects Blindness and Nausea. To enhance the effects, plant these flowers on Pale Moss;
  • Activate the Creaking Heart. During the night it releases the new mob – the Creaking mob. You can use this mob for setting up defensive traps or having an unforgettable farming experience;
  • Use Resin for trimming your armor. Resin that you may also get from the Creaking Hearts can be crafted into Resin Bricks to trim your armor. Experiment with modifications;
  • Bone-Meal Pale Moss Carpet. That Pale Moss Carpet grows better than bone-mealed. Use it for adding different in-house aesthetics if you are going to build the house of Pale Garden biome;
  • Stay Safe from Bees. They may appear near Eyeblossoms and then become poisoned. You need to protect your Bee colonies from their poison. Or, on the contrary, poison your bees intentionally to attack your enemies;
  • Challenge yourself in Trial Chambers to get the precious loot;
