What To Expect from the WoW Cataclysm Classic Update?

The exciting news is coming from the Warcraft realm! Blizzard has revealed that the forthcoming Classic DLC is going to be Cataclysm Classic. It is the rethinking of the original add-on with the same title launched in 2010. The developers intend to make it available for us in the first half of 2024. Though we have no concrete date, we predict it to be around the year 2024. Pre-expansion events might commence in April or early May of that same year.

What Is the Exact WoW Cataclysm Release Date?

According to Blizzardwatch, the time between the final phase of Warcraft Classic and Burning Crusade Classic was 6 months. From BCC to Wrath Classic, it was four-and-a-half months. The final phase of Wrath Classic will launch on October 10 this year. Based on this, Cataclysm Classic could come out between late February and mid-May of 2024. However, it will probably be later with the Season of Discovery and Hardcore mode being launched in 2024 as well.

Considering all of this, we think Cataclysm Classic will be released in early June, most likely on June 4. The pre-expansion events will probably start four weeks earlier on May 8. This could change depending on how they release the pre-expansion events.

In the authentic Cataclysm DLC released over a decade ago, in 2010, there were two big events before the release. These were the faction scenarios of Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane’s Fall, and the Elemental Invasion. The Elemental Invasion was split into 4 stages over three weeks. Some phases only lasted a few days. This time, the events will probably be shorter, maybe around four weeks.

Before Cataclysm Classic, some major content updates and add-ons to WoW Classic are expected. The Season of Discovery is planned to introduce two major updates during the initial half of the year. Additionally, it has been shared that an update for Hardcore mode is expected in the first few months of 2024. From all these factors, Cataclysm Classic may be released in June.
