Halloween is coming! That is why we decided to tell you about the interesting upcoming horror you can play, hopefully, quite soon. The game is called Bye Sweet Carole and it looks like an old 2D Disney cartoon but with the mechanics of horror action.
When we were watching the trailer of Bye Sweet Carole, there was the feeling of stepping into a classic Disney cartoon but instead of magical forests and friendly animals, you have to face the chilling horror. This new game, from the indie team Little Sewing Machine and Meangrip Studios, perfectly combines nostalgia-tinged, hand-drawn animation with a terrifying narrative.
If you are among the kids who loved the old-school Disney games, such as Alice in Wonderland or Snow White, you will feel right at home until things get dark. Just like the Halloween event in Dead by Daylight, this game is going to give you a chill despite the cartoonish visual style.
The game led by the developer of another indie horror series Remothered, Chris Darril, sends young Lana Benton on a quest to find her missing friend Carole. Roaming the mysterious Bunny Hall orphanage, Lana will soon appear in Corolla – a world that looks like it is out of some sort of fairytale but conceals incredible horrors. As she reveals the dark secrets of the orphanage, Lana faces strange and terrifying creatures – from sinister owls to colonies of tar bunnies. Corolla is nothing like a magical kingdom – it is a twisted echo of animated classics, with dangerous creatures lurking behind every turn.
Unique Gameplay Feature of Bye Sweet Carole
A unique feature of the game is her transformation into a rabbit, which enables her access to new spaces and enemy avoidance. With dangers everywhere, she’ll also have to use stealth and hold her breath. These dangers add an air of tension to what already feels like an unsettling atmosphere. It’s a world where it feels like Disney’s most charming creations turned sinister overnight.
Bye Sweet Carole Release Date
Scheduled to be released in 2025 on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S, Bye Sweet Carole has already gathered good press and interest from horror fans. Its striking visual style is highly reminiscent of early Disney films which is very unusual for the horror genre. The experience will be filled with jump scares and an eerie atmosphere.
