The Latest News About XDefiant Release Date
The XDefiant News: The Delayed Release and Upcoming Stress Test
Do you know what did not come before March 31? Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter XDefiant. It seems like the April Fool’s Day is still going on for Ubisoft. A few days ago Ubisoft made an appearance on Twitter to reveal this fresh hiccup, but no worries, they have a server stress test coming up soon for the long-expected XDefiant. Once they have tried out the servers thoroughly for some time, we can expect an official release date from them.
Go back to last summer; XDefiant was ready for its debut in the summer of 2023. However, they pushed the release date to October after a successful beta in April. Then another delay hits. Following Ubisoft’s financial talk in February, they marked XDefiant for launch in late March 2024. But hey, it didn’t come out too!

As March was beginning to show its face, the chatter of rumors started up again — more delays are coming, including the XDefiant release. But cheer up – at least it wasn’t delayed for good as Bully 2. And indeed, a few days later Ubisoft confirmed it. They always focus on gamers. The devs just need a little more time to adjust it, given the feedback from players—they want this thing ready for shining at launch.
What Is Next for the XDefiant Stress Test?
Now, Ubisoft is preparing for a 12-hour server stress fest on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. They believe that after thoroughly testing it out, they will be able to finalize the time we can all start playing. Furthermore, they are hinting at exciting content that XDefiant will offer.
XDefiant has had a rocky start. When they introduced it in July 2021, people didn’t react very positively. The response was so underwhelming that it required them to revisit its branding. In the end, this game returned to the stage in April 2023 and seemed quite good.

But, XDefiant has a tough challenge ahead. In this world where new shooters must be more than simply “fine”, it needs to produce something genuinely extraordinary. Otherwise, we might forget about it like Hyper Scape and place it in the gaming graveyard – do you even recall that game? Ubisoft is determined not to let that happen. Let’s wait and see!
