Remedy Announced the Co-Op Shooter “FBC: Firebreak”
The Project “Concord” Was Revealed!
Remedy did it once again! They announced “FBC: Firebreak” – the exciting new co-op shooter in the Control universe. Announced during the October 2024 Xbox Partner Preview, the 3-player co-op shooter is for Xbox Series X/S and PC. And it’s a Day One Xbox Game Pass release somewhere in 2025.
Originally known as “Project Condor” which was revealed back in 2021, FBC: Firebreak is anything but a basic spin-off. Remedy’s creative director, Mike Kayatta, assures that this is the “bite-sized” version of Control. It is a fully-fledged adventure where players can play as an FBC agent taking up arms against the ominous, reality-bending forces of the “Hiss” entities. And if you know anything about Control, you know: it’s about to get wild. You should definitely expect this game before the remake of Max Payne by Remedy and Rockstar.
Action-packed Gameplay and Deep Lore
From the first reveal trailer – by the way, it is in-engine footage – it is clear that FBC: Firebreak will deliver chaotic, action-packed gameplay. The environment feels a bit familiar because Remedy seems to have re-purposed most of the iconic locations from the original game. This time around, however, it’s all about the teamwork. You can team up with 2 friends and dive in or drop into the madness online with players.
The world of Control is deep enough already, where in the center is the shadowy government agency where the reality-bending events are just another Tuesday. In Firebreak you’ll face off against the dangerous Hiss-enemies again. While in Control had you facing the Hiss solo as Jesse Faden, in Firebreak you’ll have to strategize and communicate to take these higher priority targets down with your three-person squad.
