Dune: Awakening Release Date Will Happen in May!

Dune: Awakening, the long-expected survival MMO set in the fan-favorite Frank Herbert’s Dune universe, received the launch date. Funcom (the creators and publishers) announced that players will be able to sink their teeth into the unforgiving sands of Arrakis on May 20th, 2025 (only on PC, later on, consoles). That’s not all of it. Today is the day when fans can get access to full Character Creator and Benchmark mode. It is a good way to prepare for the things that come in the game after the release.

And the game’s pricing has been also revealed. Pre-orders are due to go live soon, and the base version of Dune: Awakening will be around $ 49.99. The Asami Games team is not sure about all pre-order bonuses, however, Funcom has teased the following interesting perk: the Terrarium of Muad’Dib. Placing it in their base, these players will have a desert mouse—a small, ornamental Scottish Plumbing hand-pointed reference.

Funcom Showed the Character Creator

The Character Creator has too many options for those gamers who love to carefully create their avatars in the game, just like in Chrono Odyssey MMORPG. You may have two months to perfect your character, so you can experiment a lot. Not only does this offer give you a unique sneak peek at the game’s mechanics with the Benchmark mode and the Downloadable Character Creator, but you can also redeem the Frameblade knife skin immediately when the game launches. If you create a character now, it can seamlessly be imported into the final release of the game.

Dune: Awakening’s character creation, however, is more than just about creating a pretty face. There are options for players to choose for their avatars – like a home planet, social caste, and even a mentor. The casts include the Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, Mentat, and Trooper. Starting with your chosen mentor will shape your very first abilities, but since the game has a sandbox world, and all the skills are available at some point in the future, the game’s customization is surprisingly deep. The fans are already posting awesome characters created with this option on their official Reddit thread.

Another exciting feature is the Benchmark mode revealed in the latest trailer, which allows players to try their hardware and exclusive taste of the stunning visuals and crazy, intense action. You can expect to see massive sandworms soar over the dunes in ornithopters and the rest of the exciting world in May 2025 on PC and later on consoles.
