Former Developers of Disco Elysium Founded 2 New Studios
ZA/UM and Disco Elysium 2 Are the History
Former developers of Disco Elysium are back. And this time with not just one but two new studios. A few months ago the first part of ZA/UM team founded 2 new studios. Now other developers confirmed that they have also announced the launch of two new studios. It means we have 3 (!) new studios with the former developers from ZA/UM.
So, it’s now time for fans of the indie hit Disco Elysium – pleading with deep dialogue and revolutionary RPG mechanics to finally have a good reason to be excited anew. When the game launched in 2019, it became the masterpiece of the isometric RPG genre. However, after a very messy breakup between key members of the development team and ZA/UM, we can’t wait for any collaboration between these talented people. For now, all the developers confirmed that we should not expect the sequel to Disco Elysium.

New Studios and New Games
So, new studios are Longdue Games and Dark Math Games. These are new studios with big plans. Longdue Games is hard at work on what many believe will be the spiritual successor to Disco Elysium. While the title remains under wraps, the team promises it will include a “psychogeographic RPG” mechanic – a system that changes both characters and the world based on player choices.

In their turn, the Dark Math Games has already announced and revealed the first trailer of their isometric RPG project called XXX Nightshift. Players will control the Patrol Op at an Antarctica-stranded ski resort where every choice has some impact on the outcome. According to the studio, in this game, players will have a chance to build up their character through a unique system of “traces” combining traits to help mold and shape how the story unfolds.
